A traffic ticket in New Jersey can affect your license and your record. Before you simply pay the fine and accept the points, contact AMG Law, LLC to understand your options.
How Does the New Jersey Point System Work?
New Jersey uses a point system to track traffic violations. Each moving violation carries a specific point value added to your driving record upon conviction. If you accumulate six or more points within three years your license is subject to a surcharge of $150 plus an additional $25 for each point above six. If you accumulate 12 or more points your license will be suspended.
Can a Traffic Ticket Be Dismissed or Reduced?
In many cases a traffic ticket can be dismissed or reduced to a lesser offense with fewer or no points. Ana Milena Goncalves, Esq. reviews each case individually and develops a strategy tailored to your specific situation.
